Pre Jan 10th meeting phone conference Date: Monday, December 10, 2001 4 PM Present: Chip, Torre, Doug, Andy, Mike, Ruth, Peter, Alain Chip reported from Ian Bird that the HRM PPDG document should be postable this week probably. Including discussions with EDG. Mike - Ian and Ann say it will be a few days after Christmas 28th for posting of Giggle document. Mike and Reagan's GridFTP/SRB email discussion. Can we post it - and previous discussions earlier this year - as a PPDG Discussion Topic. It may be partly an architectural issue?.Also, what is the relationship of this with the common web services on top of SRB and JASMine. So far these are areas of ongoing discussion without PPDG wide consensus. Clarification of Globus Reliable File transfer statement from Q2 Quarterly report http://www.ppdg.net/docs/ppdg_qtrly_apr-jun-01-rev.doc which mentions "replica catalog management":: This component is a CS-6 activity not a CS-5 activity. It does not cross the boundary. The catalog referred to is local to the service/component from an interface/architectural point of view, it may be transient or persistent; it may be implemented as a common component with the replica catalog, but its schema and dependencies can be discussed separately. (I put this in because I am not at all sure I believe it!!) We discussed the DGRA document and some potential input to it for the Jan 10th meeting. This will be summarized in an email to the authors in the next week - input is welcomed! Ruth would like a small phone con on the second of the discussion sessions: Errors, Status, Notification, Asynchrony, with Mike, Chip and Doug towards the end of this week. Peter will see if Doug is available and if Wisconsin can offload Mike and facilitate this session. We reviewed again that the Jan 10th agenda is very tight, parallel sessions don't work so well... more thought is needed. Chip checked that people are prepared to accommodate $25 for dinner. Next weeks phone con will be at 4 pm EST, 3 pm CST, 1 pm PST. This overlaps with the CMS Test bed phone con and people are prepared to accommodate this. The agenda will be the WP2 design document and any related information people come up with.
