We do intend to use the Globus RLS, but the replica catalog itself has some problems for us: we currently store all our metadata in Oracle RDBMS we have some experience with LDAP, but are really not happy about storing our metadata in LDAP. We have started to put our efforts into using the SRB - following Andy's suggestion - for local meta data storage and intend to use the replication location service as the federating catalog that will allow us to have 1 central location that users go to and then are re-directed elsewhere to local catalogs for more information (this GIGGLE thing). Of course, this depends on just how easy this is to integrate into our system. Our plea would be that this framework should impose a minimal overhead on setup/maintenance and new s/w over the existing system. Date: Thursday, May 09, 2002 8:18 PM Hello Ruth, Hmm. It would be useful to be able to include any old copying application in the existing and new grid tools - SRB does allow that, I think that Globus allows that too. > > b) Replica service work with WP2. It would be good if we could have a look-in at the design stages and understand how we can phase it into BaBar. adil
